Mexico's General Attorneys office offered their legal services to the families of a woman and a baby killed in the fighting in the state of Michoacan.

The woman and the baby were killed by crossfire in separate incidents during the fighting on Thursday and Friday which led to the death of La Familia cartel leader Nazario Moreno Gonzalez.

The young woman, Ema Yaritza Jaime Mendoza, was the daughter of the former mayor of the city of Apatzingan.

Mexico's AG office said they have identified the baby, but have been unable to locate the mother.

On Friday, the Mexican government issued a report on Moreno Gonzalez, also known as "El Chayo."

It said he served as the spiritual leader for the drug gang.

CNN reported that Moreno Gonzalez started out trafficking drugs through California at a young age.

They also said Moreno Gonzalez was first detained by police in McAllen back in 1994 on drug trafficking charges.
