The recount in the Cameron County Judge race has been postponed until 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Cameron County Comissioners met on Monday morning to canvas the vote.

Commissioners declared Republican incumbent Carlos Cascos as the winner in the race, for now.

Democratic Party challenger John Wood is claiming a five-vote victory in the race following a recount that was later placed in doubt.

Election Administrator Roger Ortiz is expected to recount ballots from Brownsville's Precinct 54 on Tuesday.

Ballots from that precinct were allegedly not added to the totals during the recount.

Officals reported that the votes will be recounted and the final vote count will be canvassed again.
