Arrest made in Mission area drug-trafficking murder

A suspect in a Mission area drug-trafficking murder is expected to face a judge on Monday morning.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that Adrian Arevalo Alvarez has been arrested on a murder charge over the weekend.

Investigators said Alvarez is accused in the November 16th death of Abraham Rodriguez Correa.

Deputies reported Correa had been killed as a part of the illegal drug trade. It's the 15th murder of the year for the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities are looking for a second suspect in the case identified as Heriberto Mendoza Mendez.

Alvarez is expected to arraigned at the Hidalgo County Jail at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
