It was truly a scary night for some parents this Halloween.

A group of trick or treaters were hospitalized after a car hit them overnight.

According to Elsa Police, six kids were hit on Mile Six, North of Highway 107.

The kids were out looking for candy when police say a 2000 model Volkswagon ran into them and their 18-year-old chaperone.

It all happened just before 9:00 last night.

Action 4 News is told the woman driving the car stopped to help.

Police say a lack of street lighting in the neighborhood could be to blame.
