Several marching bands from the Rio Grande Valley are headed to the Alamodome.
The Harlingen High School Marching Band is state-bound after winning “Grand Champions” at the Area round of competition Saturday at the UIL Marching Band Competition held in McAllen this weekend.
Also joining the Harlingen Cardinals in the state competition are the Donna Redskins.
The Rio Hondo Bobcats and Port Isabel Tarpons are also headed to San Antonio. They are competiting with other 3A schools from across the Lone Star State.
The University Interscholastic League state marching band competition is being held on Monday, November 1st and Tuesday, November 2nd at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The Rio Hondo Bobcats are expected to perform at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, November 1st. They are the second 3A band to perform that day.
The Port Isabel Tarpons are next to last band to perform that day. The Tarpons are expected to perform at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Novemer 1st.
Brownsville's Lopez High School is peforming during the 5A competition at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Hanna High School is performing during the 5A competition at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Donna Redskins are expected to perform in the 5A competition at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The Harlingen Cardinals are expected to perform at 5:30 p.m. that same day. The Cardinals are the last 5A band to perform that day.
Tickets are now on sale through TicketMaster or at the gate. Prices range from $12 dollars for students to $17 dollars for adults.
A two-day pass for adults is available for $28 dollars.
