The 17th named storm of the 2010 hurricane season has Formed. Earlier today the National Hurricane Center upgraded the depression to a tropical storm. Richard has been spinning in the Caribbean over the past week as an area of low Pressure.
The National Hurricane Center expects for Richard to become a hurricane within the next 24 to 36hrs. The storm is about 220 miles southeast of the Cayman Islands with winds near 40mph. It is forecasted to produce flooding conditions of up to 8 inches of rain over Jamaica. Right now the Storm is expect to move toward the Yucatan Peninsula over the weekend with a possible landfall by Early Monday.
