An area of low pressure in the Caribbean Sea is looking a lot better organized today.

On Thursday morning, the National Hurricane Center sent an aircraft in to find out if this weather maker is strong enough to be considered a tropical depression.

It has a high chance of developing further.

Most of the long range models show the storm moving into the Yucatan Peninsula by next week.

It is still to far along to say if it would end up in our neck of the woods.

In the meantime, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible through the rest of this week, with showers likely this weekend.

A weak cold front will drop overnight lows down to the upper sixties by early next week.
