It's Labor Day but Tropical Storm Hermine is quickly approaching the coast of the Rio Grande Valley and northern Tamaulipas.

Hermine is expected to make landfall around 8 p.m. Monday bringing heavy rains and strong winds.

Some Valley residents spent part of their holiday stocking up on supplies for their home.

Action 4 News went to the Harlingen Home Depot where some residents were busy buying flashlights, batteries, tarps and plywood.

Patrick Hicks with Home Depot said things were slow during the morning but expected things to pick up as the storm draws nearer.
