Man kills himself in Rio Grande City shooting rampage

Authorities in Rio Grande City are reporting that a man killed himself after going on a shooting rampage.

Rio Grande City police told Action 4 News that it all happened at a home off U.S. Expressway 83 late Tuesday afternoon.

Identities have not been released but investigators said the man shot his wife, his mother-in-law and the owner of the home where they were at.

Police told Action 4 News that the man turned the gun on himself and killed himself.

The homeowner was rushed to hospital and reportedly remains in critical condition.

The Starr County Sheriff's Office told Aciton 4 News that the man's wife and mother-in-law were killed in the shooting.

A motive is not clear in the case but investigators believe it may have been a love triangle gone wrong.

The home is located in a neighborhood next to the Zarsky Lumber off U.S. Expressway 83.
