A San Benito family is in shock and disbelief at the death of one of their own.

Besides dealing with the pain, they now have to come up with $3,000 dollars before it's too late to get their loved one home from a tragic accident that claimed his life in Billings, Montana.

His mother, Isabel Ibarra, is inconsolable.

She can hardly talk about her son, Decidirio Ibarra, without breaking down.

The 22-year-old was killed when a drunk driver went in the opposite direction of a one-way street, and crashed into the car he was in.

Four others survived the accident, but with serious injuries. Decidiro was having a hard time finding work in the Rio Grande Valley, and took a roofing job in Montana just three months ago - that was the last Isabel Ibarra saw her son.

“I need to bring my son back home from Montana,” the mother said. “I ask the Valley to help with whatever they can.”

Because of medical problems, the Ibarra family is on a tight budget.

Ibarra's sister, Juanita Ibarra, has lupus and his mother is diabetic and has high blood pressure.

They don't know how they're going to come up with the money to transport the body here.

“Hopefully we can get that because my mom wants to be able to get the body,” Juanita Ibarra said. “She wants to see him one last time."

The family is hopeful that community members will hear their plea and help get their loved one back to the Valley.

They said giving him a proper burial is also the first step for them to cope with the unexpected loss.

Anyone who would like to help the Ibarra family, can make their donations at any Wells Fargo Bank to the benefit of Decidiro Ibarra.
