Authorities are investigating a woman's death after her body was found in a park just east of Brownsville.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies were at Benavides Park off Browne Avenue late Wednesday afternoon.

Crime scene investigators were still there after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies told Action 4 News that they are treating the woman's death as a homicide.

Action 4 News will post more information as it becomes available.
