More tropical weather is firing up over the Gulf of Mexico.

A low pressure system has entered the gulf, just west of Florida.

This system is producing a lot of showers and environmental conditions are showing signs that it could get strong enough to reach tropical depression status.

The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 60 percent chance of further development over the next couple of days.

The 24/7 Weather Team will be monitoring this activity during upcoming editions of Action 4 News.
