Authorities are waiting on autopsy results but have launched an investigation into the death of an 18-year-old man being held at the Edinburg City Jail.
KRGV-TV reported that jailers reported that Joel De La Rosa was unresponsive in his cell Thursday morning.
Officials told KRGV-TV that there were no signs of foul play is believed to be involved.
KRGV-TV reported that the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office has been called in to investigate the case.
The Weslaco-based TV station reported that De La Rosa was arrested just a few hours before his death for possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest.
