At least two people were rushed to hospital in Harlingen following an accident where a car exited the expressway and cut across three lanes of the frontage road.

Harlingen police told Action 4 News that the accident took place off H Street and the northbound frontage road of Expressway 77/83 early Friday afternoon.

Investigators said two vehicles were involved in the accident and that two people were rushed to a local hospital with minor injuries.

One of the cars hit a rotten palm tree knocking it down.

Investigators believe that one of the vehicles exited the expressway and cut across the three lanes of the frontage in an attempt to get to H Street.
