A 43-year-old man remains behind bars after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman and her 3-year-old daughter at Harlingen City Lake.

Harlingen police arrested Juan Jose Gonzalez on indecent exposure and indecency with a child by exposure charges late last week.

The woman told police she and her daughter were walking around the lake around 10:30 in the morning when Gonzalez exposed and fondled himself.

Gonzalez fled the scene but officers found him sweating profusely and hiding in the backyard of a home on the 300 block of East Washington Avenue.

Harlingen Municipal Judge Robert Guerra issued Gonzalez $10,500 dollars in bond.

The 43-year-old man booked into the Cameron County Jail over the weekend.

Jail records show that U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials filed a detainer against Gonzalez.
