$2.1 million dollar bond in Harlingen double murder

A 21-year-old man accused in a fatal shooting that left two men dead faced a judge on Monday morning.

Harlingen police arrested Jose Luis Vega on capital murder and engaging in organized criminal activity charges Sunday.

The 21-year-old San Benito man is accused in the deaths of 23-year-old Edgar Villanueva and 23-year-old Agustin Gonzalez, Jr.

The two Mercedes men were shot to death off West Harrison Avenue and B Street late Saturday night.

Police arrested Vega for his role in the case on Sunday but investigators told Action 4 News that more arrests are coming.

Vega appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge on Monday where he was issued $2.1 million dollars in bonds.
