Testimony continued on Wednesday for the sentencing of convicted child killer John Allen Rubio.

A Hidalgo County jury found the Brownsville man guilty of killing and beheading children belong to him and his common-law wife Angela Camacho.

Jurors heard emotional testimony from Camacho's mother and sister as they talked about the couple's three children.

The two said they were devastated by the loss of the couple's three children.

The children were killed the in couple's squalid apartment back in March 2003.

Camacho is serving a life sentence in the case.

Rubio was given the death penalty but granted a new trial by a higher court.

The case was moved from Cameron County to Hidalgo County to ensure a fair trial.

The Hidalgo County jury found Rubio guilty on Monday started what was ended up being three days of testimony for sentencing.

Rubio faces the death penalty in his sentencing.

Defense attorneys called priests, nuns and jailers to testify on behalf of Rubio.

They testified he was a "person of dignity" and always respectful while in jail.
