Rains, flooding prompt street closures in Edinburg

Several roads are closed in Edinburg following heavy Monday afternoon rains that soaked the area.

A tropical rain system moved across the Rio Grande Valley on Monday.

Edinburg officials said the rains have caused flooding prompting authorities to close the following roads:

  • McIntyre between 10th and 12th Streets
  • Cano Road between 10th and 12th Streets
  • Kuhn Road between 13th and 14th Streets
  • Van Week Road bewteen 13th and 14th Streets
  • Sprague Road between 10th and 12th Streets

Authorities said the streets will remain closed until water recedes.

Motorists are asked to look for alternate routes in these area.
