Accident causes traffic jam off Expressway in Weslaco

A traffic accident has caused a traffic jam on the westbound lanes of Expressway 83 in Weslaco.

Authorities reported that the accident took place shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The accident remains under investigation but investigators said at least two people had to be taken to a local hospital.

Crews are working to clear the wreckage but traffic is now backed up on the westbound lanes of the expressway.
