Authorities are investigating the death of a woman arrested for bathing nude in a downtown Brownsville water fountain.
Investigators said 26-year-old Priscilla Falduto was killed shortly after being released from the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center late Wednesday night.
Falduto was allegedly hit by a white Chevrolet Avalanche near the intersection of FM 511 and Old Alice Road, just blocks away from the jail.
Full details were not immediately available but there is a lot of construction for the highway expansion along FM 511.
Cameron County Precinct 2-2 Justice of the Peace Tony Torres told Action 4 News that he was called to the scene between 11 p.m. and midnight Wednesday.
Torres said Falduto had been walking with a male inmate who had also been released at the same time.
The judge said Falduto and the male inmate starting walking in separate directions when Falduto was hit by a white Chevrolet Avalanche.
Judge Torres said the driver of the Avalanche remained on the scene to answer questions from investigators.
Torres ordered an autopsy in the case while authorities continue to investigate the accident.
Brownsville police arrested Falduto after she was allegedly caught bathing nude in a water fountain in Washington Park back on June 9th.
The 26-year-old Brownsville woman had been held at the Cameron County Jail under a disorderly conduct charge and two assault warrants until her release late Wednesday.
