Drive into the city of Primera and it won't take long to notice how out of shape streets are here.
Action 4 News viewers emailed our listens line saying Primera Road is one of the worst streets they have ever seen and all the city does is patch up the potholes.
Tell me about it. There's only about one pothole making a dip in the road, but the rest of the street is covered in patchy layers of asphalt that has developed into bumpy scars that make driving through this main street a real pain.
It's not as if city leaders are unaware of the problem.
They know exactly what they're dealing with and Action 4 News wants to know what they're doing about it.
A letter to the Pothole Patrol from a viewer in Primera asks what the city's new mayor has planned for their streets and just a few feet from the battered intersection, we found him.
Pat Patterson says he has applied for grant money to help fix up the roads.
Mayor Patterson says, "Hopefully we'll find out in August. if we can't get a grant, we'll do an overlay on Primera Road."
Patterson says street improvement was one of his main priorities upon taking office and he understands the residents’ gripes because he's one of them and has had enough of the bumpy ride to his house.
"We're going to get it fixed as soon as possible. Hopefully within 6 months. That's not a guarantee, but we're going to try to get that done."
The Pothole Patrol will be checking in to make sure some progress is made.
"We need to work these roads better, get potholes fixed better, get citizens of Primera feeling good about living here in the city of Primera."
