San Juan officials are distributing sandbags at the City Recycling Center from 2 to 4 p.m. today.

The announcement comes at the beginning of hurricane season and the day after severe weather caused hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage in the Mid-Valley.

City officials told Action 4 News that there is a limit of four sandbags per residents.

Organizers said sandbag recipients must bring proof of residence, a utility bill or a photo ID.

The San Juan City Recycling center is located at First and Oblate Streets.
