Jury deliberations are expected to continue on Tuesday in the capital murder trial of a teen accused of killing a teacher from Harlingen High School South.
The trial of 17-year-old Francisco Dominguez started in the 357th State District Court on Monday.
The Cameron County District Attorney's Office reported that jurors began deliberations in the case around 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Dominguez is accused in the June 2008 death of drama teacher John Farr.
Althought Dominguez was 16 years old at the time of the alleged crime, he was later certfied as an adult.
Dominguez is not facing the death penalty becuse of his age but if convicted, could get life in prison.
The Harlingen teen maintains that he was defending himself from Farr.
Jurors tried to decide the case on Friday afternoon but court officials told Action 4 News that they had not reached a verdict by 5 p.m. Friday.
Deliberations are expected to continue on Tuesday morning due to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday.
