Jury selection is expected to start next Tuesday for a Brownsville man accused of killing and beheading his three children.

John Allen Rubio is accused of killing his baby daughter and his stepson and stepdaughter back in March 2003.

He was original sentenced to death but was granted a new trial by a higher court.

The trial was moved to Hidalgo County earlier this year.

On Monday morning, Rubio appeared for a pretrial hearing where a judge denied the Brownsville man's request to keep his oral, video and writtens confessions out of the trial.

The judge ruled that all the statements, except for one sentence, will be heard at the upcoming trial.

The judge also ruled against Rubio's request to keep Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos out of the trial.

A jury is expected to be selected on Tuesday, June 1st.

Rubio's common law wife Angela Camacho received a life sentence for her role in the case.

She's expected to testify in the trial.
