Opening arguments have started in the murder trial for a teen accused of killing a teacher at Harlingen High School South.

Francisco Emmanuel Dominguez has been jailed under a capital murder charge for the death drama teacher John Farr since June 2008.

Dominguez was 16 years old at the time of the alleged crime but was later certfied as an adult.

Friends of Dominguez told Aciton 4 News in a previous interview that Farr had an inappropriate relationship with the teen.

A jury has been seated in the case.

The Cameron County District Attorney's Office reported that opening arguments in Dominguez's trial started shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday.
