Harlingen police are asking for the public's help in identifying a burglar or burglars who stole eight laptop computers from an elementary school.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Ben Milam Elementary School off Rangerville Road was the target of the burglary.

The alleged burglary happened some time over the weekend.

Authorities have few clues but police said the burglar or burglars gained access to several classrooms through windows.

Investigators said the suspect or suspects stole eight Dell laptop computers worth more than $7,000 dollars.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Harlingen Crime Stoppers Hotline at (956) 425-TIPS or (956) 425-8477.
