Mexican authorities are investigating how a fuel siphon was attached to a PEMEX pipeline that runs from Reynosa to Monterrey.
The Notimex news agency reported that the clandestine fuel siphon was found at Pump Station 19 of the pipeline.
Authorities told Notimex that the device was both hidden and secured.
It's not clear who put the device there or how much fuel had been stolen from the pipeline in Friday's incident.
Notimex reported that PEMEX has been increasing security and ways to detecting illegal fuel siphoning.
PEMEX officials told Notimex it was the seventh fuel siphon found in the Reynosa area since January.
Notimex reported the last fuel siphoning device was found on April 23rd on a pipeline in Rio Bravo.
The Mexican news agency reported that another five were found in the region between January and March.
Action 4 News has reported on previous cases where drug cartels stole the oil and sell it to American oil executives.
