The fugitive mother of a boy allegedly killed by his 800-pound aunt is in custody after being handed over to authorities at the Anzalduas International Bridge.

The McAllen Monitor reported that 22-year-old Jamie Lee Rosales surrendered to American authorities at the bridge early Tuesday afternoon.

The newspaper reported that Rosales fled to Mexico after being charged with injury to a child.

According to VALLEYCENTRAL.COM archives, Rosales is accused of leaving her 2-year-old son Eliseo Gonzalez with her bedridden sister Mayra Rosales back in August 2008.

The 800-pound woman allegedly crushed the boy.
