Unless you've been living in a cave, you know the heath care reform debate has been long, loud and contentious.

But now that it's over, whatever side you were on, there are things affecting your insurance you can feel good about.

The most obvious is helping 30 million uninsured Americans get coverage.

But that's not all.

For example, when it comes to your health coverage, no more caps.

Insurance companies used to routinely cap the amount they'd pay either by the year or over your lifetime.

Healthcare reform did away with caps.

Nor can insurance companies refuse to cover those with pre-existing conditions.

Another change concerns covering kids.

Under the new law, dependent children up to 26 years old can remain covered under their parent's policy.

Twenty-one years old was more the norm before.

Own a small business?

You might qualify for tax credits of up to 50% of the cost of health insurance for your employees.

Preventative care coverage...like annual physicals... is going to be free: no co-pay, no out of pocket.

If you ever felt ripped off when your insurance company denied a claim, you might like the new, independent appeals process that's slated to be established.

And if you're retired, you'll like the extra $250 dollars you'll be getting to help with the cost of Medicare part D prescription drugs.

You can still argue about cost of all these things and people will and they should.

But love it or hate it, the bottom line is if you need insurance or buy it in this country, you'll probably benefit from this bill.
