The Texas Rangers are investigating an elections controversy in Starr County.
Electronic voting machines recently replaced paper ballots.
The machines were supposed make the election counting process run smoother.
But some candidates alleged that the county’s mail-in ballot systems still needs some work.
District clerk candidate Dave Jones spoke with Action 4 News.
Jones lost the race but said he noticed a large number of suspicious mail-in ballots coming in from a single precinct in Roma.
The district clerk candidate took his concerns to Starr County’s Elections Administrator Rafael Montalvo.
Authorities are now investigating how suspicious ballots while a recount for the race is expected to happen on March 22nd.
