Hidalgo County family gets $8.9 million award in lawsuit

An Hidalgo County jury delivered a multi-million dollar verdict in a wrongful death lawsuit.

The jury handed awarded an $8.9 million dollar verdict after a three-week trial.

The lawsuit stems from a workplace accident on April 6th, 2009 in Pharr.

Sergio Rincon, Sr. worked for Nabors Drilling and was injured in a forklift accident at a Shell oil well site near a rig off Jackson Road.

The 51-year-old man died from his injuries.
