Three teens jailed for military surplus store burlgary

Three teenagers are behind bars after McAllen police linked them to a burglary at a military surplus store off North 10th Street.

McAllen police arrested Ricardo Rodriguez, Joaquin Castañeda Jr. and a 14-year-old boy under state jail felony burglary charges.

The three are accused of breaking into the rear door of the Green Beret military surplus store over the weekend.

The teens were caught on surveillance cameras and later identified. 

Rodriguez and Castañeda appeared before two different judges on Thursday where they each received $15,000 dollar bonds.

Police said Rodriguez is a 17-year-old Mission resident while Castañeda was identified as an 18-year-old McAllen resident.

No futher information was released about the 14-year-old. It’s not clear how the three new each other.

Investigators told Action 4 News that some of the store’s stolen merchandise was recovered.
