“Nacrobanners” allegedly signed by Gulf Cartel surprised morning commuters in several cities south of the border.

Nuevo Leon En Linea reported that the signs were reported along highways and overpasses in Matamoros and Rio Bravo early Tuesday morning.

Users on Twitter confirmed the signs and another one in Valle Hermoso.

The banners were signed by the Gulf Cartel announcing the group is distancing itself from their former ally Los Zetas saying in Spanish:

We don’t’ want kidnappers…terrorists…bank robbers…rapists..child killers and traitors in our ranks.

Authorities took the banners down but not before photos of them were posted on Twitter and other on-line media outlets.

The El Universal newspaper recently reproted that similar signs had been posted in other parts of Mexico announcing an allience between several drug cartels against Los Zetas.
