Nine races for Democratic and Republic Party primaries are headed towards runoff elections in the Rio Grande Valley.
Under state law, the runoff elections are scheduled to take place on April 13th.
Almost all Valley races in the primaries had decisive victors but eight races ended with runoffs.
The only Republican runoff came from Hidalgo County between Eddie Zamora and Paul B. Haring. Both men are vying for the party's nomination for the U.S. Representative District 15 seat.
Democrat voters in Cameron County will have to decide four runoff races for county judge, county commissioner precinct 2, a justice of the peace seat and a party precinct chair seat.
Willacy County Democrats will have to decide on nominees for county judge, county commissioner precinct four and a justice of the peace seat.
Democrats in Starr County will have to choose between two candidates vying for the Precinct 7 justice of the peace seat.
Action 4 News will continue to follow the races.
