City officials have confirmed that the Reynosa Police Department was attacked with an explosive device.
Reynosa city officials sent out a press release about the attack on Thursday.
The El Universal newspaper reported that the attack took place at the police department building off Bulevar Morelos at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday.
The newspaper reported that the occupants of a motor vehicle launched an explosive device in the direction of the police department.
El Universal reported that the device exploded on the street and damaged three cars. Nobody was injured in the attack.
Reynosa Mayor Oscar Luebbert-Gutierrez has vowed to send out a minimum of two press releases a day to squash on-line rumors from social media networks like Twitter.
