Two suspects in a driveby shooting in Peñitas that a left a teenager in critical condition have surrendered to authorities.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies told Actino 4 News gang members Daniel Nordhausen and Enrique R. Cervantes are facing attempted capital murder charges for the attack.

The two turned themselves in and are expected to be arraigned at the Hidalgo County Jail at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the shooting took place at a duplex off FM 2221 and around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies said two adults and three juvenile males were inside the a car when they got into an argument with Nordhausen and Cervantes.

The two men allegedly responded with guns and shot at the car as they tried to flee.

A 15-year-old was shot during the incident. Investigators told Action 4 News that the teen is in critical condition in a local hospital.

A motive was not released but deputies said Nordhausen is a member of the “Most Wanted” gang while Cervantes is reportedly in the “Norteño” gang.
