Action 4 News has just confirmed that the body of a 20-year old service woman killed in Iraq is being returned to the Rio Grande Valley on Thursday afternoon.
The America’s Last Patrol has confirmed that the body Adriana Alvarez will land at Gulf Aviation in Harlingen at 1:10 p.m. Thursday.
The San Benito native was killed while serving in Iraq last week.
Alvarez graduated from San Benito High School in 2008.
Her death remains under investigation.
A procession is expected to start from the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel off West Business 77 and Williams Road to the airport.
Alvarez's body will be brought back to the funeral home where visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a special service starting at 7 p.m.
Another service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday to be followed with the cremation of Alvarez's body.
