A man accused of raping a child in the Dallas area is behind bars in the Rio Grande Valley.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested Ignacio Gutierrez at the Gateway International Bridge on Monday.

Customs officers told Action 4 News that the 64-year-old man was attempting to enter the United States from Mexico.

A routine database check revealed that Gutierrez had an outstanding warrant for sexual assault of a child case in Dallas County.

Gutierrez is currently being held at a Cameron County Jail where he's waiting extradition back to Dallas.
