Three men are behind bars after authorities found guns and more than 3,300 pounds of marijuana at a home near Elsa.
U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested the three men on federal drug charges Monday.
A criminal complaint shows that ICE agents received a tip that a drug deal was going down in the parking lot of a Whataburger off Highway 107 in Edinburg.
Agents followed two cars to a home off the 8500 block of Carmen Avila Road in Edinburg and then followed one of them to a mobile home off 16 Mile North in rural Hidalgo County.
Authorities allegedly found four guns inside the mobile home and then 334 bundles with 3,381 pounds of marijuana inside a shed and a car on the property.
The three suspects were identified as:
- Remigio Morales-Cardenas
- Roberto Lamas-Acosta
- Honorato Garcia-Manriquez
All three men appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peter Ormsby in McAllen on Tuesday.
The three men were all identified as Mexican nationals.
Judge Ormsby denied bond for the men until a Friday morning hearing.
