A TABC sting operation ended with two employees at restaurants in Brownsville and South Padre Island being charged with selling alcohol to minors.
Action 4 News first reported the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) sting operation on Monday.
But new details about the weekend arrests of Rafael Cisneros and Gustavo Reyna were released on Tuesday.
Both men are accused of selling alcoholic beverages to a minor.
TABC Sgt. Albert Salinas told Action 4 News that the two were arrested as part of an operation took place in Brownsville and South Padre Island.
Salinas said an 18-year-old woman wearing a Harlingen Cardinals letterman's jacket was sent to buy alcoholic beverages.
The undercover 18-year-old reportedly used her real driver's license, which was in the proper vertical format and was labeled "Under 21" at the top.
Salinas said both Cisneros and Reyna sold alcohol to the 18-year-old woman even though state law restricts the sale to those 21 years or older.
The TABC sergeant said Cisneros worked at the Capt. Bob's Seafood Restaurant off Boca Chica Boulevard in Brownsville while Reyna worked at the La Copa Bar & Grill on South Padre Island.
Both Cisneros and Reyna were booked at the Cameron County Jail where they received $2,500 dollar bonds. The two men posted bond on Monday.
Under Texas state law, selling alcohol to a minor is Class A misdemeanor punishable up to a year in jail and a $5,000 dollar fine.
