Two men are behind bars after they were allegedly caught with almost 56 pounds of cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash in parking lot of the Outlet Mall.
U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Osiel Benavides and Pedro Cisneros on federal drug charges Tuesday.
A criminal complaint filed in the case shows that Cisneros allegedly asked an undercover agent to transport the cocaine to Houston for $7,000 dollars.
Authorities set up a sting operation in the eastside parking lot of the Outlet Mall.
Both Cisneros and Benavides allegedly arrived at the Mercedes shopping center with a duffel bag containing 55.8 pounds of cocaine and $6,000 bucks in cash.
The two men appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Dorina Ramos on Wednesday.
Judge Ramos denied bond for both men until a Monday morning hearing.
