Everything is back to normal at the Gladys Porter Zoo following a Thursday morning propane accident.
Brownsville firefighters were called to the zoo shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday.
A zoo spokesperson said workers were filling a propane tank in the maintenance yard when the bottom of the tank broke apart.
The force of the tank bursting sent an employee falling back.
The spokesperson said there was no fire and no explosion but the liquid propane inside the tank reacted when it made contact with the air creating a gas.
The zoo employee was taken to a local hospital for evaluation but is reported to be fine.
The incident took place in a maintenance yard in the rear of zoo.
No animals were injured or distburbed by the accident.
