This week's fugitive is Jose Solis.

Solis is wanted by the Brownsville Police Department for capital murder.

Solis allegedly robbed and brutally murdered Ricardo “Richard” Garza at Garza’s home on Sugar Mill Road in Brownsville on February 8, 2008.

Investigators said Solis and a second suspect, David Hernandez, stole Garza’s credit cards and were later seen using the cards at the Brownsville WalMarts on Boca Chica Blvd. and also at the Highway 48 store.

Officers caught and arrested Hernandez shortly after.

He pleaded guilty to the crime and is currently serving a 31-year prison sentence.

However, Hernandez claimed he was the getaway driver and that Solis robbed and killed Garza alone while Hernandez waited in the vehicle for him.

Solis is described as a 23-year-old Hispanic man with brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion.

He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.

Solis also has an unknown tattoo on his upper left arm.

Jose Solis also goes by the names Jose Angeles and Edgar Hernandez.

Police believe Solis is in the United States illegally and they consider him armed and dangerous.

Solis is from Veracruz, Mexico and may be hiding there.

If you know where Jose Solis is hiding or if you have seen him since February 8, 2008, please call the Brownsville Crime Stoppers line at (956)546-TIPS.

You can remain anonymous and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest and conviction.

Help keep our communities safe.  Help capture this fugitive.
