Two carjacking suspects remain in custody under $100,000 bonds after leading police on a high-speed chase from Weslaco to Mission.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies told Action 4 News that it all started at the parking lot of A & V Drive-Thru off Mile 12 1/2 North and FM 88 north of Weslaco.

Deputies said two men armed with a shotgun and pistol pulled in front of an Ford F-250 pickup truck and carjacked the driver.

They then took off and started a high speed chase with deputies.

Investigators said the truck's owner followed the carjackers, who later led police on a chase across the Hidalgo County.

A Border Patrol helicopter, Texas Department of Public Safety state troopers and police departments from weslaco all the way out to palmview assisted in the chase.

Authorities said speeds topped out at 90 miles per hour.

The suspects finally bailed near 7 Mile Line and Western Road between Mission and Palmview.

Both Raul Francisco Altamira and Juan A. Sierra were arrested under aggravated robbery charges at the scene.

Altamira and Sierra both appeared before a magistrate judge on Wednesday morning where they each received $100,000 dollar bonds.
