SAN JUAN -- A San Juan trucker issued a Call 4 Action hoping that a city ordinance will eventually make room for his big rig.

The city has an ordinance prohibiting 18-wheelers on certain streets and parking in front of homes.

Guillermo Guzman said the ordinance puts him and other independent truckers in a dilemma – they have no place to park.

City officials say the ordinance is meant to prevent damage to residential streets, which aren't designed to handle the weight of trucks.

They also say the ordinance is meant to protect residents from noisy semi-trucks running all night.

City manager Tony Garza told Action 4 News that the rules aren't likely to change any time soon.
