Border Patrol agents are looking for the driver of an ATV loaded with almost 600 pounds of marijuana in Starr County.

U.S. Border Patrol agents told Action 4 News that they first spotted the ATV along the Rio Grande near the rural community of La Casita Thursday night.

The ATV was allegedly loaded with 25 bundles with 577 pounds of marijuana.

The driver allegedly escaped into the brush as Border Patrol agents approached.

Authorities continue to investigate and who owns the ATV but estimate that the marijuana is worth $461,4000 on the streets.
