RIO GRANDE CITY, TEXAS -- U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande City station have recovered a stolen vehicle out of McAllen.
Tuesday night, agents patrolling the Los Ebanos International Bridge saw a maroon and pewter colored Ford F-250 parked near a residence.
The truck matched the description of a suspicious vehicle seen during a previous narcotics smuggling attempt.
The agents noticed that the rear bench seats of the pick-up had been removed - a tactic commonly used by smugglers.
A background check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen in August from McAllen.
The truck had fictitious Mexico license plates from the state of Tamaulipas on it.
McAllen police now have the vehicle while they continue their investigation.
