It's an annual tradition that school children are the first ones to enjoy the Donna Corn Maze.

Owner John Billman told Action 4 News that the maze is a popular destination for valley students and families.

"I'm happy glad to see them coming with smiling were here to make sure when they leave their going to have some memories and smiling faces as well,” Billman said.

The Billman family kicked off the 2009 season with students from the Sharyland Independent School District.

Action 4 News was there when the students tried to navigate their way through the 10-acre maze.

Nancy Irizarry said both teachers and students said they love coming to the maze.

"They told us that this is the best place to bring the kids,” the Sharyland ISD teacher said.

After running through the maze, children and adults can play on the farmer's hay jump, race plastic ducks in the water pump section and slide down a huge slide.

But one of their newest attractions this year is a pillow like-moon jump.

"I have 150 acres to play with and my goal is to fill it,” Billman said. “Granted, I may never be a Six Flags or Disneyland but that is my goal."

Billman said he's happy to see the students breaking their normal routine.

He wants them to skip the movies and spend the afternoon getting lost in the corn maze.
