A Cuban man is behind bars in the Rio Grande Valley after he allegedly lied about being an American citizen at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested Pablo Erid Seculi-Tolosa under a false claim to United States citizenship charge on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Cuban man allegedly tried to enter the United States at the Hidalgo bridge claimed to be a U.S. citizen living in Miami.

A database check revealed Seculi-Tolosa had been ordered to be deported from the United States.

The Cuban man is expected to appear before an immigration judge and then deported back to Cuba.
