BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS -- The trial date has been set for the Mayor of Brownsville who is facing three felony charges.

Pat Ahumada is accused of abuse of official capacity, misapplication of fiduciary property and theft.

The charges stem from a $26,000 city check that was issued to a vendor and wound up in Ahumada's business bank account.

The mayor's pre-trial date is set for October 12, 2009.

Ahumada has repeatedly maintained his innocence.
